What Is Instant Equilibrium And Why I Changed My Domain Name

Welcome to my new site! If you’ve been following me for a while or recently landed on my old site, you’ll notice I have changed my website name to WWW.CAMILLENISICH.COM. Why? Well, most importantly, I want you to feel like you have a relationship with me and so I wanted to make it easier for you to find me. Plus, it occurred to me that I was using my name everywhere else on the web, but not on my site, so I made the change.

But not to worry, Instant Equilibrium is still technically the name of my business, and there are important reasons why. Read on for the back story…

The Stress Epidemic

It’s estimated that 75-90% of primary care visits in the US are for stress-related complaints or disorders. And that’s just for the people who actually make it into the office. What about the others who can’t afford to or are just too stubborn to go? Wouldn’t it be great if you could minimize the need to go to the doctor, save for those times when something is broken, falling off or bleeding profusely? Enter the concept (and business name) I call Instant Equilibrium.

Instant Equilibrium Is For Imperfect People

When you’re dealing with a stressful situation, you’ve got to have strategies at your fingertips that can instantly flip the switch and bring you back to equilibrium. Got cut off in traffic? You don’t want to cause a road rage wreck or get arrested for playing bumper cars on the highway. You need strategies to deal with the situation.

Have a schedule that is too hectic for any normal human being to maintain? You need ways to find instant relief. And by instant relief I don’t mean stopping off for a beer or three after work. No strategy will be perfect and neither will you, but if you leave the situation unchecked your immune system will suffer. Next thing you know, you’ve got a cough that’s lasted for weeks and you drag yourself to the doctor only to find out you’ve now got bronchitis.

Kids going through a meltdown phase? Does yelling back at them really do anything except make you and them more upset and extend the screaming? Hey, I get it. It happens to the best of us, no matter how many times you’ve started the Orange Rhinoceros challenge or made a vow to stop yelling, you can develop strategies so that yelling isn’t your go-to.

This is what Instant Equilibrium is all about. Finding out what triggers and situations can lead to chronic stress and then figuring out strategies that you can use both as a daily practice and in the heat of the moment. You don’t have to be perfect, you just have to be dedicated to the effort to keep trying. When you do that, you’ll be surprised how you can change your default reactions and improve your health.

So now that you know what this site about, I hope to see you around here pretty regularly. And if you’re wondering about the logo, it’s an abstract depiction of two ideas. The first being a person with hands raised to a swirling, stressful sky. And, the second more obvious, being a visual representation of the engineering concept of stable equilibrium where the ball returns to it’s original point of equilibrium after being disturbed. I know it’s a little geeky, but it makes for a fun graphic. Don’t you think?
